2023 is finally coming to a close! Honestly overall I’ve never had so much fun with DA as I’ve had this year, and that’s probably because of my big switch to drawing as opposed to morphing! I feel like I was just able to express all the weird and kinky ideas in my head related to expansion, and I generally have a renewed energy for this page again. So with that being said, I wanted to take some time to explain what I was thinking of for the next year, as well as maybe share some insight for my goals next year. Because I do have a few of course!

Commissions:

I know everyone and their MOTHER has been asking me for comms for YEARS now. I tried them out back in the summer of 2018 and quit because I hated doing them. But back then, people were asking me for people they knew personally in increasingly Lewd situations which, as someone who likes playing things on the more “safe” side I guess, I didn’t like that. But…as I’m getting to be an adult now I realize comms might be a good way to start out monetizing my art without doing something like a monthly patreon (which I am considering, but more on that in a minute), I’m much more open to exploring them. So I think maybe sometime in January with any luck, I’m gonna open up a handful of commissions slots to test the waters. So if any of you have been wanting one from me, keep an eye out!

Patreon/subscriptions:

As some of you know, I tried this awhile ago when I was morphing and…well let’s just say it didn’t go well. I couldn’t commit to the “viewer requested morphs” and I feel like I let a lot of people down when trying that. So obviously I’m a bit nervous to try it again. And again, HOWEVER, I am a much more mature person I’ve found and I take my responsibilities a LOT more seriously nowadays and if I end up trying a subscription model yet again, I promise I will do better. I’d probably start with like a weekly image, one of which will be picked from a list of ideas I create (FOR NOW) that any subscribers could vote on. I do have quite the backlog of ideas I wanna make! again, patreon or some subscription model isn’t in my immediate plans, but I may create one in the future so be aware!

If that does happen, you guys might get less content on my page for a month or so while I bolster the patreon stuff. Again, learned from last time a long 3-6 month wait is gonna piss a lot of people off so I won’t make the content lock that long if I do things again. Least I think, you know? Course because of sites like Kemono and BBWchan existing (yeah guys, I know workarounds exist. All content creators do, you all ain’t slick), I am pretty sure some of you would go around the paywall and just get it for free anyways which is a consideration. Anyway, I don’t know about subscriptions yet, but stay tuned!

Image packs:

This idea floated in my head after seeing the success of Jiro and realizing I could make a whole set of images around a series like MHA, wrap it up and sell it for a few dollars to fans like you all! However, as someone who’s CHRONICALLY terrible at keeping the lid on things, I would struggle with image packs cuz I know there’d probably be 1-2 images in there that would have me DYING inside because I couldn’t share them publicly for a long time, if EVER. So for that reason, I have no idea if image packs are in the cards at all this year. But NEVER SAY NEVER! Maybe I’ll experiment with one or two of em! MUHAHAHAHAHA!

Now, we get to go into the more personal stuff: art goals for 2023!

Drawing goals:

This year, to be Frank…was a sort of “fuck around” year for me on the page. I put a very low expectation on myself to just explore drawing and see if it was something worth pursuing in the future. And after this year I can say for sure I LOVE THIS SHIT! Thinking of ideas and ways to convey scenes has become addicting to me, and as I’ve seen my art improve and I’ve gotten faster, I feel more and more confident to try more and more techniques, even if they fail.

And yet that being said…I feel like I can be doing more to improve my skills faster. Like beyond a few tutorials when I got stuck, I didn’t really like STUDY anatomy, background work, perspective, color theory, ect. which I KNOW I need to learn for me to take my art to the next level of being more “professional”. So I will make this promise to all you who read this post: if I start monetizing my stuff, I will take my study of art much more seriously to improve further. Because I want to be able to take a commission and say “OH YEAH I CAN DO THAT!” rather than “oh sorry…I can’t make that cuz I’m not good enough yet”

Beyond basic improvement? I wanna commit to at least an image or hopefully more a week, probably also introducing more sketches and flat color drawings as opposed to full pieces with “the works” 24/7 (art pieces that take a few hours as opposed to multiple days on end…those can be reserved for commissions and other fun bits XD) to help improve my understanding of fundamentals while also gaining experience. I’d also like to go ahead and aim to have at least my first multi image sequence by my birthday this year (3-5 images depicting radically different stages of expansion)

Character wise? I mean I love my anime girls and that won’t stop of course lol. But…I do admit I did a FUCK TON of anime stuff this year and you all wanna see characters from other media too (especially video games, I know we got a lot of “inflation bait” characters in that medium who need a good ballooning with an air hose or blueberrying with Wonka’s chewing gum) but also with any luck…I’ll be able to do some more OC stuff as well! I have designs picked out for a few and backstories written up for a handful of colorful new personalities to add alongside Rachel, Bombshell and the others! One OC in particular will be getting an “updated look” soon like Rachel, one that I’m especially excited for you all to see!

Overall though if I wanted to sum up my general hopes for art this year? It would be do more, do it better, and go out of my comfort zone! Let’s get some good variety going so you all don’t get bored!

Sculpture goals?!:

Ok so this was a last minute add but…my GOD THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR ALL THE KIND WORDS ON TSUNDAE! I was deathly afraid to share her cuz I didn’t know what you all would say, but the response from you all has been INCREDIBLY kind and positive! Because of that kindness in fact, I was thinking maybe…we could make another sculpture or two in the next year! I may actually have one in the works as I speak…but sadly I’m not ready to show that off quite yet. But in time if things go well, I may have something in due time! Who knows, maybe if it goes well I’ll start selling copies for you all lmao

Immediate future:

For my art in the future, bar some life changing event or something of the sort, I have a planned end of year image that…because of other projects and things I can’t share here lol…is delayed until the new year. However, I did attach a link which you can find below showing the OC playing the role of “Transport Balloon” for the final image: BOMBSHELL! Who’s looking festive in her winter themed super suit as she transports the lot of her friends through the sky (All my OC’s up till now, including ones you all haven’t met yet!)

After that, I’ll hopefully start drawing from my secret “ABC Ideas” list of subjects I wanna draw in the new year, some of whom include such lovelies as Junko from Dagonrampa, Misato from Evangelion, Yang Xiao Long from RWBY and Ada Wong from the Resident Evil series!

Final note:

And as this piece comes to a close, I just wanted to take this segment to tell those who read this far down…from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for everything this year. As you are aware, I took a huge leap of faith ditching my massive following I had for morphs in favor of fully drawing all future content. And you could have easily turned tail, stopped supporting me, taken away your watcher status, ect. But instead? I got more views on pieces than I had in years prior, I got more comments per image (while I don’t respond to them, know that I read each and every single one you guys post and I’m so grateful!), and…I had the highest favorite counts across the board I’ve ever seen…I even saw some pieces crack the 1k fav barrier for the first time!

And while yes the success of my art is partially because I took drawing somewhat seriously…the truth is that you guys are the reason all my stuff took off like it did! It’s a cliche thing but guys it’s true, without fans like you my art is just crap on a page that I made during my own free time. So for that reason alone, I have to thank everyone for making 2023 my best year on the site EASILY…and I’ve been on here for like almost a decade now HOLY SHIT! Thank you all for the continued support and here’s to an incredible 2024!

Don’t wanna take up too much time but…I wanted to take the time to just write a little blurb and say…thank you to everyone who’s been supporting all the new stuff since I started the focus on digitized art. God knows I’ve been struggling with consistent practice and a good upload schedule the last few months, but despite that I am thrilled with all the feedback I’ve been getting on all my recent pieces. You guys are awesome and are the reason I’m still on the platform.

If you all have been thinking “he’s been a bit absent as of late”, first off…yes I have been absent. But not because I’m lazy. I can’t say much… but I will say I’m trying an attempt for a project that’s fell through 2-3 times by now. Why am I sure it will work this time around? Because I’m very into it and it’s further along than my other attempts before. I don’t wanna spoil the fun but it’s perhaps one of my favorite things I’ve ever tried making, and while it’s got awhile left to go before I can show it off…it’s something I’m sure people will enjoy seeing made.

Yes I know the wording of the whole journal here is bad, SHUT IT! all will make sense when this project comes to my page soon…soonish lol.

Be patient and I can assure you will see something awesome in due time

I would like you guys to report all stolen works you recognize and help to get this guys stuff taken down. I don’t wanna nuke his page, I more so want to get all the work he stole taken down because that doesn’t sit well with me. He stole my original Kimberly drawing and a old morph of Alissa Violet, but he took some more stuff as well. Link below:
